Join Yaya Erin Rivera Merriman of Active Culture Family and Bridge Temple at Elder Farm in Descanso, CA (San Diego County) for a year long plant spirit medicine apprenticeship and priestess path initiatory intensive in which we will gather monthly online as well as in person once per season to celebrate the 4 Cross Quarter Earth Celebrations and dive deeply into the mysteries of a path of service through devotion to nature and the feminine.
This program has been conceived as an intimate opportunity for a small group of devoted practitioners to support each other in making an evolutionary leap toward radical embodiment of truth and service to the sacred. Together we will embark on a healing journey through the chakras and the seasons with Sacred Plant Medicines and Goddesses from around the world as our teachers and guides. Our cross cultural curriculum aims to help us to identify the underlying commonalities of the path of the Priestess (servant of Nature/Goddess) and deepen our understanding of this archetypal configuration and role in the cosmic order as it has evolved throughout time. Our study aims to nurture an appreciation and respect for the beauty and variety found in different living traditions while assisting us in uncovering our own roots and our own most authentic pathway into the mystery.
WE WILL WORK WITH THE FOLLOWING FOUNDATIONAL PRECEPTS THROUGHOUT THE TRAINING:
1. WE WALK THE PATH OF DEVOTION TO NATURE AND THE FEMININE
We will begin by learning about Goddesses from around the world and selecting a patron Goddess to work with for the duration of the program. Each Yogini/Priestess/Green Witch will choose a place on the land to serve as personal sacred space where you can go to reset and integrate at any time throughout the training.
We will look deeply at the different roles we have played throughout time on our journey of exploring the archetype of the Yogini/Witch/Priestess/Other Non-Conforming Wisdom Keeper, including Priestess as:
•farmer/space holder/container maker
• divine concubine/courtesan/sacred whore
• liberator/destroyer (of illusions)/initiatrix
• medicine carrier/medicine woman/shapeshifter/healer
2. WE ARE READY TO commit to caring for our own BODIES in such a way that enables them TO truly BE A VESSEL FOR SPIRIT
Karma clearing, healing of family of origin wounds, upgrading our emotional processing tools for achieving emotional mastery, diet, use of sexual energy- these have all been important areas needing to be addressed if we truly desire to become a hospitable vessel for spirit to flow through and embody and share Magic in a very real way. In the Medicine Mandala Apprenticeship, we will study a variety of traditional practices and tools for preparing the body to recieve, contain, and responsibly share increasingly potent energies.
3. WE WALK IN SUCH A WAY THAT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT WE ARE AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN JOURNEYING WITH PLANTS ALONGSIDE US AS TEACHERS, FRIENDS, AND GUIDES
Apprentices will receive a thorough introduction or refresher course in the fundamentals of the Wise Woman Tradition of Herbal Medicine, including:
• The way of the kitchen witch
• Preventative medicine through working regularly with nourishing, toning herbs
• Botany, Plant Identification, Medicine Making, and Ethical Wildcrafting
•Inviting Plants into your rituals
•Multidimensional Partnership with Plants through Traditional Plant Spirit Medicine
• Healing through Green Magic
4. WE HONOR PLANTS AS MASTER TEACHERS, GUIDES TO PERSONAL, COMMUNITY, AND PLANETARY HEALING, AND co-FACILITATORS OF THIS YEAR OF STUDY
Each gathering will include a seasonally themed medicine ceremony . (Although we deeply honor all teacher plants, we have noticed that when we say "medicine" here on the west coast, many people assume we are speaking about Ayahuasca, which although beloved to us, is not aligned with our vision for sustainability, so will not be included in our training program. (Explore the curriculum for the individual training weekends here. ) We will journey together with the intentions of healing ourselves, our communities, and the planet, as well as celebrating and connecting deeply with the unique energies of the season, weaving in the specific teachings shared in classroom time, and in our monthly online workshops and creating opportunity to have first hand, embodied, personal experience of the effectiveness and distinct flavor of the plants, healing modalities, and Goddess energies we are studying each season.
EACH MODULE INCLUDES
• Daily Classroom Time with Erin Rivera Merriman and various guest teachers
• 3 Meals per day of ancestral foods, nourishing herbal infusions, medicinal elixirs.
• Seasonally themed ritual for personal and planetary healing
• Study of Elemental Magic and Goddess Worship traditions from around the world that strengthen the intuition and facilitate direct, unmediated access to the wisdom of the natural world and the heavenly host of benevolent beings that surround us and support us on our journey.
Please note that our 2017 apprenticeship is now full. Please feel free to browse through our curriculum and send us an email if you would like to be among the first to know when we begin accepting applications for our 2018 group.

We will be tailoring the specific nourishing and toning herbs and food-as-medicine practices introduced in the previous modules to the specific needs of the second chakra, as well as introducing new skills and concepts that support us in our journey towards complete menstrual empowerment. Module 5: November (In Person)
Kava + Cacao + Kundalini=Awakened Heart/Womb Consciousness
We will arrive having spent several months clearing and resetting the emotional body, ready to dive into a multidimensional experience of integrating our emotional/physical/spiritual self with the support of Sacred Cacao Medicine Ceremonies facilitated by Paola Garcia. Paola will be joining us all the way from Mexico to share her wisdom and profound relationship to Cacao medicine, as well as her path with mindfulness meditation and how it facilitates embodiment of unconditional love and other lessons revealed by Cacao. Our bodies are becoming increasingly well tuned instruments and we are now picking up so very much more of what spirit is putting down. Things are getting juicy, the plant world and the earth are alive in a whole new way and we are feeling ourselves to be at one with that beauty and perfection. We are unlearning and remembering, regaining our capacities as wild natural phenomenon. The stage has been set. We will be engaging yoga for the vagina skills designed to help us bring more pleasure, energy and awareness (chi/life force/health) to our creative center. We will then begin through intention and study, to call in different Goddess energies by journeying together through several foundational Hindu & Tantric Texts which will begin to provide cultural context, vocabulary, and recognition of different Goddess energies that surround us and are capable of educating us as to how to live more sustainably, in greater harmony with the energies of the natural world and other beings that surround us

*This program is designed as an incubator- a safer space for women who feel called to deepen their understanding of the subtle mysteries of feminine embodiment. We recognize that the path of service through devotion to Goddess/Nature is available to all regardless of gender, while also acknowledging that our personal experience, expertise, study, and mastery lies in the specific experience of how energy moves in a female body. We understand that gender identification can sometimes be a complex issue. If you for any reason feel called to participate, but have questions about whether or not this particular container is right for you, please don't hesitate to reach out so that we can have a conversation about your interest in the program and see if it is a good fit!
This Outline is subject to change based on the unique needs of the specific mandala of people and energies that is constellated in response to this invitation.

Visiting Teacher Mentors
We want you to know deep in your bones what it feels like to be nourished and provided for, and so We are going to feed you like you have never been fed before.
Many mystics and seekers ask themselves after years of wild experiences, "Yeah, but what's the point?" We have found meaning, purpose and happiness in the pursuit of serving Goddess by embodying Her. We have found that in many shamanic traditions the practitioners die young, the energies they work with exact a great toll on the body. Inspired by Director Erin Rivera Merriman's personal healing journey, our Food Sadhana aims to enculturate an evolutionary approach to the role of Healer/Priestess/Practitioner, and we will have no martyrs for the Goddess on our team. Goddess desires that we be well and serve in joy, and on the level we desire to play on, radical self care and commitment to nourishing yourself and providing for your own very specific needs as a Priestess/Practitioner is of primary importance. Being in right relationship to our food then becomes our primary practice. More than just providing our Priestess/Practitioners with nourishing meals, we are passionate about sharing our best practices in the kitchen that create the solid foundation on which our local mystical community rests. ln addition to receiving 3 meals a day of locally sourced ancestral foods prepared on site by lead kitchen witch Centehua Sage, we will have daily mini lessons on the medicinal properties of each meal and how they relate to the seasons, Goddesses, themes, and other energies of each in person training module. More than nourishing our bodies we will heal and evolve our relationship to food and bring it into the realm of magical practice, alchemy, and Food Sadhana (committed daily practice that creates the support/foundation for your spiritual life.) Some may simply enjoy the exquisite amount of care, creativity and love we have woven into the menu. Others through our time together may find their path in the Tantra of Food (Food as a pathway to Liberation complete unto itself.) In all cases, we promise a special opportunity to look deeply at and evolve our relationship to nourishment over the course of our time together.

Motherhood deepened Centehua's journey towards healing arts and connection to the Earth. She resides with her partner and daughter on a farm in San Diego, CA, where she is learning how to create a regenerative lifestyle that is honoring to the land and the people. As a postpartum doula, Centehua focuses on nutrition and the role of plant medicines to assist the healing process. She has explored various culinary disciplines drawing inspiration from raw foods to Ayurvedic alchemy. Guided by the seasons, she carefully crafts menus that respect the land and farmers. Centehua feels that feeding people is a great privilege, not only for health reasons but as an opportunity to help everyone connect to the environment through earth's medicines.
